Breakthrough Technologies Institute
The Breakthrough Technologies Institute (BTI) serves the public interest by promoting environmentally-advanced technologies through independent analysis and education and by fostering information exchange worldwide. BTI's goal is to promote innovative technologies that can help society address air quality, transportation, energy security, and other critical issues. A major program at BTI is the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) program. BTI acts as an advocate for BRT by providing credible, independent analysis through BTI-authored reports; advocating policies to promote and encourage BRT; and building other information and educational tools such as a website, www.gobrt.org. BTI also runs the Fuel Cells 2000 program, which publishes tools and resources on fuel cells and hydrogen, such as the Fuel Cell Fact Book, the Fuel Cell Industry Directory, and a worldwide fuel cell installation database.

The CHBC is a non-profit organization comprised of organizations and individuals involved in the business of hydrogen. Sierra Club
The Sierra Club is a national organization dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of the natural world. Sierra Club has both extensive environmental advocacy programs (including lobbying and political action) and outdoor recreation programs. The Sierra Club Raise promotes the goal of raising fuel economy standards for new cars, trucks, and SUVs to an average of 40 miles per gallon over the next decade, which would save more oil than The U.S. imports from the Persian Gulf and could get from the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge combined. The Sierra Club specifically supports hybrid vehicles as a means of achieving this goal.

Union of Concerned Scientists
The Union of Concerned Scientists is an independent organization of scientists and other citizens concerned about the impact of science and advanced technology on society. California staff's expertise and outreach focuses mainly on transportation and energy issues in the state.
