This job is for a candidate who possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment while facing exciting and new challenges. The candidate will also need to possess the ability to multitask and communicate within the various levels of structure and supervision. The candidate will rotate between the production floor, TransPower vehicles, and an office environment, and thus, requires a person who enjoys that diversity.
Core Responsibilities:
- Use Microsoft Visio and/or Solidworks Electrical for schematic design and updates
- Design and validate circuit functionality
- Work with advanced vehicle powertrain design and integration
- Work on medium and heavy-duty vehicle platforms
- Responsible for component selection and validation
Required Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering experience minimum of 7 years
Experience in vehicle electrical design and schematic layout
Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and work levels
Ability to design or modify circuits for the purposes of automotive operation, performance, and safety
Knowledge of and ability to develop schematics using Solidworks Electrical
Troubleshooting experience with tools such as oscilloscopes, multi meters, Vector CANalyzer, and general problem-solving skills
Must have understanding of vehicle sensors and associated I/O’s
Must have knowledge of or experience with CAN connected devices and J1939 communication protocol
Must possess experience and understanding of high voltage DC as well as High Voltage single phase and three phase AC
Required Education/Certifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of Electrical Engineering
Required Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills:
- A strong understanding of vehicle sensors and associated I/O’s
- Knowledge and experience with ECU’s
- Must possess a strong understanding of vehicle electrical design and schematic layout, with focus on retrofitting conventional vehicles with advanced alternatively fueled powertrains
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with high voltage DC bus design
Ability to do component specification, testing, calibration, and operational validation as it applies to advanced vehicles and power solutions
Be able to program embedded components when required (C++…)
Experience in automotive engineering with focus on electric, hybrid, or plug-in hybrids
Experience with retrofitting conventional vehicles with advanced technologies including alternatively fueled powertrains
Data analytical skills in programs such as Excel and or Matlab
Experience with Solidworks 3D Routing

I am Mechanical Engineering Graduate student with specialization in H/EV Powertrain and Automotive Controls. I am looking for Intern/co-op from Jan 2020 and can also start full-time from June 2020. Right now, I am working on HIL testing of Battery Management System (BMS) during my Control co-op.
I have great expertise in modelling Eletrified Power-train, Vehicle Dynamics, Software-in-Loop (SIL) & Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) testing using Model based System Engineering approach, Optimal Control (LQR) and CAN. I have also working experience on MotoHawk and MotoTune software.
