Frank has been a Vehicle Integration Manager at TransPower since June 2011. In this role he is responsible for designing and modeling both the energy storage and powertrain systems for our prototype vehicles. Frank has more than seven years experience leading teams in advanced powertrain design. He was previously a Vehicle Systems Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory where he was a part of the Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions group. This group was responsible for establishing research and development programs as well as developing testing procedures to evaluate alternative energy vehicles in areas such as fuel efficiency and controls.
While at Argonne, Mr. Falcone chaired the EcoCAR Challenge Technical Steering Committee, a three year university engineering competition aimed at lowering fuel consumption and emissions while maintaining vehicle performance. This role built on Frank’s experience as an undergraduate and graduate student at San Diego State University where he led his school’s Challenge X HEV design team for four years while pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree through the Master’s level, taking his team from 15th place to 6th place under his leadership.
