EnerTech Capital, in business since 1996, has managed two funds totaling $290 million which has been invested in 44 energy and energy-related companies. EnerTech targets early to expansion-stage venture investments that can deliver dramatic, defensible improvements to the profitability of the major producers and consumers of energy. EnerTech investments related to zero-emission transportation solutions include investments in Advent Solar, a photovoltaic cell and module manufacturing company founded in 2002; Clean Air Power, which develops alternative fuel systems that allow diesel engines to run on natural gas or diesel and provide significant fuel savings and enhanced environmental compliance; Franklin Fuel Cells, a developer of enabling materials that allow fuel cells to use every day fuels (gas, diesel, ethanol) improving the cost, operations and adoption curve for fuel cells; and Nanomix, which develops nano-materials for chemical sensing allowing detection of previously impossible levels of hydrogen and other industrial, medical and environmental chemicals.
