Harold Meyer

VP, Manufacturing

Harold Meyer has more than 30 years of experience in quality, processes, manufacturing and production. He joined TransPower in August 2012 as its Vice President, Manufacturing. In this capacity he leads the Company’s manufacturing, integration, and production processes, and oversees the manufacturing of all prototype vehicles at TransPower, including electric on-road Class 8 trucks and electric yard tractors.

During the second half of 2013, Mr. Meyer took over management of TransPower’s Electric Drayage Demonstration (EDD) project, as it transitioned to integration phase for a fleet of seven electric trucks. As one of these trucks is designated to be converted to utilize catenary power under the ECT-ZETECH project, Mr. Meyer’s intimate familiarity with the EDD project greatly enhanced his ability to effectively oversee manufacturing of the trucks to be built under the ECT-ZETECH project.

Prior to joining TransPower, Mr. Meyer served for 20 months as Vice President, Operations for Belgium-based Bluways, USA. In this capacity, he managed all North American and Asian operations related to energy storage and hybrid vehicle technology.

Before this, Mr. Meyer worked at ISE Corporation for nearly 11 years. His first position at ISE was as Manager of its prototype department, after which he was charged with establishing a formal production department and all relevant procedures. Subsequently, he established ISE’s service department and became its first Director.

Before joining ISE, Mr. Meyer served 20 years in the US Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer. He earned numerous awards and designations including Master Training Specialist, has over ten years as an instructor for technical courses and was also command Safety Officer Qualified instructor (9502) and curriculum development specialist (9506).

Currently Mr. Meyer is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Operations and Management, with completion expected in early 2015.
